Barleans Organic Oils—Omega Swirl

Barleans Organic Oils—Omega Swirl

Barleans is the number one fish-oil company in the U.S. specializing in fish-oil based offerings, such as a children’s line of supplement chews and fish oils though products also include flaxseed and coconut oils. While most fish oils or pills leave an aftertaste or results in an unpleasant burping reminder of fish throughout the day, these products do not! When our tester was first asked to try this product, the response was a turned-up nose and “Fish oil? Gross!” But after other testers were recruited to try the product it all went down more easily! We all tried the Lemon Zest Omega Swirl and found the texture to be smooth, and—as a pleasant surprise—there was no aftertaste. Comments described the taste as similar to doughnut filling and even a lemon meringue pie! This is a great product to get all the nutrients needed in just one tablespoon serving! According to the packaging, each serving provides 730 mg of omega-3 EPA/DHA, 3.5 grams of fish oil. Fish oil is reported to help with brain and cognitive function, attention span and intelligence, eye health, visual acuity, and overall well-being.

This is a wonderful product. My kids have been taking the Nordic Naturals Fish Oil...strawberry in their orange juice but no matter what I would do they would gag because of the fish after-taste. Then they would be burping up the fish smell all day. We tasted the Barleans Lemon Zest and it truly does taste like lemon meringue pie. My kids take it straight off the spoon and love it. It is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who wants their kids to have fish oil for all its benefits but their kids can't stand the taste.
